This X12 Transaction Set contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Trailer Usage Report Transaction Set (227) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This standard can be used to transmit information related to the shipper's, consignee's, or third party's planned usage of a trailer supplied by a motor carrier for trailer inventory reporting purposes only. This transaction set is used to provide the motor carrier with information related to the loading of a trailer, rejection of the trailer, and reported location. It is not to be used to provide a motor carrier with data relative to a load tender or pickup notification and requires no response.
