  1. A service segment starting and uniquely identifying a message. The message type code for the International multimodal status report message is IFTSTA. Note: International multimodal status report messages conforming to this document must contain the following data in segment UNH, composite S009: Data element 0065 IFTSTA 0052 D 0054 16A 0051 UN

    1. Data element S009/0057 is retained for upward compatibility. The use of
    S016 and/or S017 is encouraged in preference.
    2. The combination of the values carried in data elements 0062 and S009 shall
    be used to identify uniquely the message within its group (if used) or if
    not used, within its interchange, for the purpose of acknowledgement.

  2. A segment indicating the beginning of a message and identifying the consignment for which status is being reported.

  3. A segment indicating the date of the message.

  4. A segment identifying the transport service relating to the consignment.

  7. A segment identifying a place/location which applies to the consignment such as consignment origin and destination.

  9. A segment specifying a total for the consignment.

    1. A segment identifying equipment related to status or event such as a container of a multi-container consignment.

    2. A segment identifying parties linked to a transport equipment such as the transport equipment owner, transport equipment operator/lessee or manufacturer of the transport equipment etc.

    3. A segment indicating the date and time of the preceding transport equipment, e.g. manufacturing, inspection and etc.

    4. A segment specifying free form or processable supplementary or other information such as the state of the transport equipment.

    5. A segment specifying measurements related to the equipment such as gross weight, tare weight, capacity.

    6. A segment specifying the dimensions of the equipment such as height.

    7. A segment identifying seal and seal issuer associated with the equipment.

    8. A segment to specify a reference number to equipment.

    9. A segment to identify the means of transport to which the equipment is inked, necessary in cases where this forms the key to retrieve relevant information.

    10. A segment to specify transport movement details related to the equipment.

      1. A segment to indicate the dangerous goods regulations which apply, the class of the dangerous goods, additional dangerous goods codes, the United Nations Dangerous Goods (UNDG) number and the shipment flash point.

      2. A segment identifying a reference relating to the status (e.g House Bill of Lading number).

      3. A segment indicating the date and time of the status or event.

      4. A segment to specify document details related to the status code, such as indication which document is missing (status code: document missing).

      5. A segment specifying a monetary amount relating to the status.

        1. This segment will identify the external files by indicating the file name, file number and its sequence number in an exchange.

        2. To give precise definitions of all necessary elements belonging to the configuration of a computer system, e.g. hardware, firmware, operating system, communication and application software.

        3. To identify a communication number of a department or a person to whom communication should be directed.

        4. A segment giving reference related to the file identified by a previous external file link identification segment.

        5. This segment will convey the date/time details of the external file.

        6. The size/volume of the external file identified in the previous external file link identification segment.
