This X12 Transaction Set contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Educational Institution Record Transaction Set (133) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The Educational Institution Record conveys descriptive characteristics of postsecondary and elementary/secondary educational institutions. Data contained in this record includes information about institutional location, type, student enrollment, staffing governance, finance, programs, and services at an educational institution.

A school district may report as an aggregate with some individual information supplied for specific schools within the district.)
