Introducing X12 claim submissions in the Stedi portal
You can now submit claims as X12 EDI in the Stedi portal. Professional, dental, and institutional claims are supported. Previously, you could only submit claims as X12 using our X12 Claims API or SFTP.
Most Stedi customers use our JSON API to submit claims. For many developers, JSON is easier to work with, which makes integration fast. For one-off professional claims, you can also use our UI-based claim submission form.
But if you already work with X12, converting to JSON or retyping claim data by hand takes time. Now, you can upload your X12 file directly to the portal. There’s no translation needed.
How to upload X12 claims in the Stedi Portal

Sign in to your Stedi account and go to https://portal.stedi.com/app/healthcare/claims/upload.
You can also go to Claims > Transactions. Then select Submit claim > Upload EDI file.

To upload an X12 file, click Upload X12 EDI and select your file. Stedi automatically detects the file’s claim type and validates it against the EDI spec.
Or choose your claim type and paste in your claim’s X12.
Once uploaded, the claim opens in an interactive inspector with your claim’s X12 on the left and the EDI spec on the right. To submit, click Submit claim.
