X12 204 Motor Carrier Load Tender

X12 Release 4010

This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Motor Carrier Load Tender Transaction Set (204) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This transaction set can be used to allow shippers or other interested parties to offer (tender) a shipment to a full load (truckload) motor carrier including detailed scheduling, equipment requirements, commodities, and shipping instructions pertinent to a load tender. It is not to be used to provide a motor carrier with data relative to a Less-than-Truckload bill of lading, pick-up notification, or manifest.

An EDI 997 is required for all EDI 204's. This also applies to EDI 204's that contain a code of "Original - No Responses Necessary"

Change: A change status indicates an update (change) from the original tender.
The change status will be the way that Ryder notify carriers of any changes to the tender. Ryder will no longer send a cancellation and then re-tender the corrected load. When a correction is sent the entire load tender transaction with the changes will be sent.

49 Original - no response necessary: "Auto Accept" - will be used when an EDI 990 is not required in response to the tender. An EDI 997 is still required. Primarily to be used for Less-Than-Truckload carriers.
