Stedi completes external audit for HIPAA eligibility: Ensuring the protection and confidentiality of patient data

We are excited to announce that Stedi has successfully passed an external audit and our products have been certified as HIPAA eligible. This certification means that our products have undergone rigorous testing and have been deemed compliant with HIPAA regulations.

We understand that HIPAA eligibility is important for our customers in the healthcare industry as it ensures their sensitive patient data and protected health information (PHI) will be safe and kept confidential when using Stedi products. This is critical when you are exchanging health information such as claims, eligibility, and enrollment information with your partners.

This certification is just one of the many ways in which Stedi is fortifying its platform to handle customer data safely and securely. Visit our trust page for more information on our security and compliance policies and documents, or contact us with any compliance questions related to your business case.

Bootstrap: Configure a simple, end-to-end EDI workflow

Stedi creates building blocks for custom, end-to-end EDI integrations. Now, our bootstrap repository lets you quickly configure and run a sample implementation that reads and writes EDI documents from your Stedi account.

The bootstrap implementation uses the following steps to handle inbound EDI:

  1. You add EDI documents to a Stedi Bucket.

  2. New EDI documents automatically invoke a Stedi Function that processes this data payload.

  3. The function calls the EDI Translate API to transform the EDI data into JSON. The transformation requires a Stedi Guide to map EDI fields to JSON fields.

  4. The function sends the JSON document to a webhook.

The bootstrap implementation has a similar workflow for generating outbound EDI. Your EDI flows may differ from these simple examples, but the bootstrap is an excellent starting point for your first integration. We encourage you to Contact us as you get started with Stedi, so our team can help you customize the bootstrap workflow for your use case.

Stedi EDI Forum: Connect with the EDI community

EDI is really hard. We’re here to help!

Introducing the Stedi EDI Forum: A public resource for sharing EDI questions, complaints, and ideas with Stedi experts and the EDI community. You can also use it to provide feedback about Stedi products.

Everyone can view the forum for free, and you can create a free Stedi account to contribute.

Add EDI samples to Stedi guides

EDI sample files convey pages worth of specifications in a single snapshot. They help new trading partners understand valid usage patterns faster and reduce debugging time.

You can now add up to five EDI samples in each Stedi guide to represent supported variants. The guide builder automatically validates new sample files against the guide specifications, so you can fix errors before providing them to your trading partners.

After you add samples, your trading partners can view and edit them directly in their web browsers.

Introducing the EDI Guide Catalog

We are excited to announce the EDI Guide Catalog, an open directory of public Stedi Guides for a wide range of trading partners and industries. Stedi Guides provide EDI specifications as interactive web pages and also let you validate X12 EDI documents in your browser.

The catalog contains guides for our customers’ most-requested trading partners, which include companies like Walmart and FedEx. We build and maintain these guides to support customer integrations and provide them as a reference to the larger EDI community.

Access to the catalog is free. We will continue to add to this list, although you can also build custom guides to integrate with any trading partner not listed here. Contact us for a demo or with any questions.

Reference implementations for inventory CSV feed processor and SFTP poller

You can now use our reference implementation for inventory feed processor and SFTP poller to jumpstart your own implementation rather than starting from scratch. These examples use Stedi Functions SFTP (backed by Buckets), and Stash. You can also use the ideas in these reference architectures to develop a unique architecture of your own.

Also, the Stedi bootstrap repository contains a reference implementation for both an inbound EDI workflow and an outbound EDI workflow.

Announcing a 90% price drop for Stedi Buckets LIST requests (reducing SFTP polling costs)

We are pleased to announce a 90% price drop for Buckets LIST requests, taking the price down from $0.50 to $0.05 per 1000 requests. With this reduction, a LIST request will now cost you the same as a GET or a SELECT request (see buckets pricing). The new pricing is effective as of Dec 14, 2022

If you use Stedi’s serverless SFTP, this results in direct savings when trading partners poll your SFTP directory to check for new files, as SFTP issues LIST requests to the underlying Stedi bucket on your behalf.

EDI Reference now provides Figures Appendix in context

The X12 EDI Standard contains several figures that require special formatting. You can now view the guidance and structure of these figures in the context of elements, segments, and transaction sets where applicable on Stedi’s EDI Reference.
