Spotlight

A spotlight is a short-form interview with a leader in health tech. In this spotlight, you'll hear from Paola Ballester, MD, co-founder and CEO of EasyPA.
What does EasyPA do?
EasyPA is a physician-built, AI-powered platform that reduces friction and improves prior authorization and appeals outcomes.
We help practices and RCM teams increase first pass approvals and generate intelligent appeal letters in less than 2 minutes, improving patient access to care.
We are not just an operational tool. We are a revenue strategy.
How did you end up working in health tech?
I am a practicing pediatric hospitalist and physician advisor. I see firsthand how prior authorizations and denials delay care, burn out teams, and leak revenue.
After years of fighting these battles manually, I realized this was not a staffing problem. It was an infrastructure problem.
So we built the solution we wished existed.
How does your role intersect with revenue cycle management (RCM)?
I sit at the intersection of clinical care and financial performance.
I understand how documentation, medical necessity, and payer policy translate into approval or denial. And how that impacts patient care.
EasyPA brings clinical intelligence directly into the RCM workflow so teams can move faster and protect revenue while simultaneously improving access to care.
What do you think RCM will look like two years from now?
RCM will be more automated, more predictive, and fully connected through APIs.
Organizations that invest in intelligent, real-time authorization infrastructure now will win on both access and margin.
