Agentic Discovery gives you a single, intuitive interface for finding a patient’s insurance coverage and benefits. And it works across payers. No payer portals or phone calls needed.

Three ways to start

You can start an Agentic Discovery check from the Stedi portal in three ways:

  1. 1Click + New eligibility check in the checks view.
  2. 2Select Agentic Discovery on the Stedi Agent’s Chats page.
  3. 3Click Launch Agentic Discovery for a failed eligibility check in the checks view.

The agent displays real-time updates as it works through the workflow, showing each step and its results.

Minimal input data required

To run an Agentic Discovery check, you only need to provide:

  • The patient’s first name
  • The patient’s last name
  • The patient’s date of birth, member ID, or Social Security Number (SSN)
  • The provider’s NPI

If you have more information, like the state of the patient’s address, include it. More information increases your chances of finding active coverage.

Find Medicare coverage

Agentic Discovery can use Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) lookups to check for Medicare coverage as part of its insurance discovery step.

To use MBI lookups in insurance discovery, you must complete transaction enrollment with the Stedi insurance discovery payer (payer ID: DISCOVERY). Enrollment isn’t required to run Agentic Discovery checks, but we recommend it.
