A spotlight is a short-form interview with a leader in health tech. In this spotlight, you'll hear from Kasiraman Kalyanaraman, Chief Officer of Digital Transformation of iMagnum Healthcare.
What does iMagnum Healthcare do?
iMagnum Healthcare Solutions combines revenue cycle management services and technology to help healthcare organizations improve cash flow and reduce administrative workload. We support physician practices, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, independent physician associations, and rural hospitals.
Our approach starts with understanding the organization’s revenue cycle health—where revenue is delayed, what causes recurring denials, and which workflows need improvement. We then bring together domain expertise, people, and automation to address those challenges.
Through our RevPlus platform, we apply AI and automation to eligibility verification, insurance discovery, accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, EOB-to-ERA conversion, and AI-powered calls for payer communications. This brings capabilities across the front, middle, and back of the revenue cycle into one product, giving clients greater visibility and helping teams move from identifying an issue to resolving it.
How did you end up working in health tech?
For most of my career, I have managed large teams responsible for client service delivery. That gave me a close view of the challenges teams face every day, alongside the goals and expectations of our clients. I kept asking myself: why are we still doing so much routine work manually, especially when delays and repetitive processes directly affect cash flow?
Another challenge that stood out was clients’ ability to access meaningful, current information whenever they needed it. They needed visibility into what was happening, what was holding up payment, and what was being done about it.
Those experiences drew me to iMagnum—the opportunity to bring operational knowledge and technology together to solve the problems I had seen firsthand.
How does your role intersect with revenue cycle management (RCM)?
As Chief Operations & Digital Transformation Officer at iMagnum, my role is to turn operational challenges into practical improvements that support sustained, predictable cash flow.
I work closely with our internal teams and clients to understand their day-to-day challenges: where work gets delayed, why claims require repeated follow-up, what causes payment uncertainty, and which information clients need to make timely decisions. Those conversations help us determine whether the solution requires a process change, better access to data, automation, or a combination of all three.
I bring those priorities into our service delivery and product development, ensuring that our technology addresses real business needs. Ultimately, my responsibility is to connect what we build and how we operate with measurable client outcomes—faster resolution, fewer recurring issues, clearer visibility, and more consistent collections.
What do you think RCM will look like two years from now?
I expect RCM to become more proactive, connected, and increasingly supported by AI agents. More routine work—from checking coverage to retrieving claim status and preparing follow-up actions—will happen within the workflow, with people overseeing exceptions and decisions that require judgment.
The biggest shift will be from completing tasks to resolving issues. Knowing a claim’s status is useful; understanding why payment is delayed and taking the appropriate next step is where the greater value lies.
Clients will also expect timely visibility into their revenue cycle, with clearer explanations of payment delays and expected collections. Reliable data and interoperable APIs will be foundational. Success will be measured through fewer avoidable denials, faster payments, more predictable cash flow, and a better experience for staff and patients.
