Spotlight: Jamie Tipton @ Elev8 Health
Spotlight

A spotlight is a short-form interview with a leader in health tech. In this spotlight, you'll hear from Jamie Tipton, founder and CEO of Elev8 Health.
What does Elev8 Health do?
Elev8 Health increases the adoption of groundbreaking therapies by removing the reimbursement burden from providers.
When physicians believe in a new technology, but the authorization process is slow or processed as overly complex, physicians lose faith in the ability to offer the technology to patients and product adoption stalls.
Our Authentic8 Patient Access Portal handles benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals, so providers stay focused on patient care, and our med tech clients see accelerated commercial growth.
How did you end up working in health tech?
My journey into the healthcare technology sector was built from necessity, which grew into opportunity.
I had the fortune of working with innovative medical device companies in both the interventional spine and ear, nose, and throat segments. During my time at those companies, they utilized third-party authorization solutions, which at first I was excited at the prospect of having this service as a value add and adoption driver for my business.
I quickly realized that these companies were using legacy systems that were difficult to navigate and highly inefficient, providing a less-than-optimal experience for myself as a sales representative in the field and the physician offices and their staff who were my customers. I remember distinctly saying to myself, "There has to be a better way." With that, Elev8 Health was born.
How does your role intersect with revenue cycle management (RCM)?
Elev8 sits at the front end of the revenue cycle, the point where therapy adoption either accelerates or stalls. Our platform and team handle the payer interactions, authorization workflows, and appeals that providers don't have time for.
For our med tech clients, that directly translates to more procedures, stronger provider relationships, and more patients accessing the therapies they need.
What do you think RCM will look like two years from now?
For emerging med tech, the winners will be the companies that make reimbursement invisible to their providers.
AI will automate routine verifications and submissions in near real-time, while experienced specialists handle complex appeals and payer negotiations. That's exactly what we're building at Elev8, a platform where the reimbursement process accelerates technology adoption instead of standing in the way of it.
