Spotlight: Mirko Jons @ StoriiCare

A spotlight is a short-form interview with a leader in health tech. In this spotlight, you'll hear from Mirko Jons, Head of Product at StoriiCare.

What does StoriiCare do?

StoriiCare is an all-in-one care management platform that combines a comprehensive EHR (electronic health record) system with integrated tools for documentation, compliance, family communication, reporting, and a built-in billing solution.

Designed for adult day centers, assisted living, memory care, and home care providers, it centralizes care plans, assessments, progress notes, scheduling, and invoicing in a single cloud-based system, helping organizations streamline operations, improve accuracy, and manage both clinical and financial workflows from one secure platform.

How did you end up working in health tech?

About two years ago, I was working in SaaS when I came across an opportunity with StoriiCare that felt like a great mutual fit.

As I got deeper into the product, I gravitated toward the billing side early on because it was such a clear pain point for our customers – especially small care organizations that didn’t have the time or resources to manage complex processes.

I saw a real opportunity to add value there, helping simplify workflows and build solutions that made a meaningful impact on both their operations and financial sustainability, where inefficiencies become big costs very quickly.

How does your role intersect with revenue cycle management (RCM)?

My role sits at the intersection of product and revenue cycle management.

Because billing is such a clear pain point for our customers, we focus on building workflows that reduce friction across invoicing, collections, and payment reconciliation.

In care settings, clinical documentation and billing are tightly connected – if one breaks down, cash flow suffers. Our EHR and billing tools are designed to integrate seamlessly so that services delivered translate quickly and accurately into revenue.

Partnering with Stedi has been instrumental in helping us create efficient, repeatable processes for our clients. Their reliability and hands-on support have enabled us to move faster and stay efficient, even when resources are limited.

What do you think RCM will look like two years from now?

I think RCM will become far more automated and intelligent, largely driven by the adoption of LLMs – which I see as printing presses for correlation.

They’re exceptionally good at identifying patterns across documentation, billing rules, payer behavior, and historical claims data, which will help surface issues before they impact cash flow.

Over the next two years, we’ll see legacy systems evolve quickly to support real-time validation, faster claims processing, and clearer financial visibility.

For smaller care providers especially, RCM tools will need to feel less like heavy back-office infrastructure and more like embedded financial guidance – giving operators simple, actionable insight into revenue performance without requiring large specialized teams.
