Spotlight: Mohnish Mohanty @ Intelizen

A spotlight is a short-form interview with a leader in health tech. In this spotlight, you'll hear from Mohnish Mohanty, Founder and CEO of Intelizen.

What does Intelizen do?

Intelizen turns complex payer contracts into clean revenue for healthcare organizations.

Our AI-native platform reads, interprets, and monitors every term in payer agreements, and then connects those insights directly to claims and payment data to surface underpayments, automate appeals, and improve cash flow.

In short, we help providers get paid what they’ve earned, faster and more fairly.

How did you end up working in health tech?

I’ve spent my career building products that solve unstructured, complex problems, first in enterprise software and contract intelligence, then in AI.

Earlier in my career, I worked in healthcare consulting at Accenture and Deloitte, helping large health systems modernize their operations and technology. Later, at DocuSign, I led enterprise initiatives that included healthcare organizations focused on compliance and contract efficiency.

Seeing firsthand how much money hospitals lose simply because contracts and claims don’t speak the same language made the problem impossible to ignore.

Healthcare felt personal to me because it’s one of the few industries where fixing inefficiencies isn’t just about making things faster or better for their own sake – it’s about directly improving people’s lives and access to care.

How does your role intersect with revenue cycle management (RCM)?

At Intelizen, we work closely with our customers’ RCM and finance, legal, and payer teams to align contract terms with reimbursements.

Our platform acts as an intelligent bridge by analyzing fee schedules, CPT codes, and variance data to identify revenue leakage and automate recovery through contract-backed appeals.

My job is to make sure our technology actually drives measurable improvements in net revenue, not just more data.

What do you think RCM will look like two years from now?

The next era (Swifties, anyone?) of RCM isn’t about automation; it’s about autonomy, AI agents that predict, prevent, and protect every dollar before it’s lost. That’s the road Intelizen is on, and I’m excited for the constant evolution of healthcare tech.
